frowst (FROWST) - n., stuffiness in air, staleness, mustiness. v., to enjoy a warm, stuffy room
Backformation from frowsty, says the dictionary, which isn't very helpful as the trail ends there -- possibly altered from frowsy, but that's unknown origin. In any case, this is a good word for winter, as shut up rooms tend to accumulate frowst. I'd be careful with that verb, though -- it may have been Kipling's coinage.
