That is, a rotating disk of dense gas surrounding a young star, out of which planets will be (or are being) accreted. Wikipedia has a decent rundown. I'm kinda guessing at the pronunciation here, but I love that it looks like it's a microscopic multicellular critter but actually is something much, much larger.
