crozzled (KRAWZ-ld) - adj., p.p., dried up, crispy or withered, especially from heat or burning; slightly charred about the edges.
North English dialect, but it seems too useful to let languish in Yorkshire. The crozzled bacon can be good, depending on how crispy you like it, but the crozzled pizza two days later is just yuck. Also a verb, to crozzle (which form can also be a noun -- the burnt bits). Like most slang, origin is obscure.
