It's been a while since I've done a theme week, and I've got a bunch of words beginning with C on my list. Because C isn't just for cookie.
chandelle (shan-DEL) - n., a sudden, steep climbing turn of an aircraft, in which momentum is traded for altitude.
Usually a 180 turn completed just as the plane is about to stall. Borrowed in 1918 from French, where it means candle, from WWI pilot slang monter en chandelle, to climb vertically. So be sure to use it to get away from the Red Baron.
