fimicolous (feye-MIK-uh-luhs or fi-MIK-uh-luhs) - adj., growing in or on animal excrement.


Used mostly in biology, and applies mostly to certain fungi -- but I can think of a few beetles that apply. Coined in the early 1870s from Latin roots, fimus, dung + colere, to inhabit. Cognates exists in several European languages.

I think I should make "Yes, there's a word for it" the official slogan of this feature.
