farraginous (fuh-RAH-ji-nuhs) - adj., heterogeneous, composed of a mixture.

The adjectival form of farrago, though it was borrowed from Latin a decade or so earlier than the noun, both ultimately from farrāgō, mixed grains, mush for cattle, from fār, spelt.

I should probably mention that my introduction to farrago was Flanders & Swann: the concert recorded as At the Drop of a Hat was described as one, "which is a sort of do-it-yourself author's benefit."
