debitage (DEB-i-tij) - n., lithic debris found at archaeological sites where stone tools were made.

All the chips that are chipped off when you flint-knap, plus discards, leftover cores, and so on. Debitage is an important part of lithic analysis. From French débitage, from débiter, to cut up, saw up (from dé-, from + -biter, from bitte, bitt) + -age, noun suffix.
