fulvous (FUHL-vuhs) - adj., of a brownish-yellow color, tawny.


Can also be called a reddish-yellow or orangish-yellow. Used in a lot of animal names and in botany (and wouldn't you know but Wikipedia has a list for that). Borrowed in 1664 from Latin fulvus, of uncertain origin.
