virilocal (vir-uh-LOH-kuhl) - adj., living with or near the husband's family after marriage; patrilocal.

Also used to describe the culture in which this is practiced, which according to Wikipedia, is about 69% of world cultures [citation needed]. Make of that what you will. The difference between virilocal and patrilocal being whether at the root one is localized with the man (vir) or the father (pater), which in practice amounts to the same.

Matrilocal is indeed the contrast word, residing with or near the wife's family -- I should have mentioned that in the entry.

What about 'uxorilocal'? That seems to be the closest to virilocal.

matrilocal and patrilocal relate.
but uxorilocal and virilocal seem to be equally relative.

That may be the best way to construct that synonym.
