splanchnic (SPLANGK-nik) - adj., of, in, near, or pertaining to the viscera or intestines; visceral.

Visceral in the literal sense, that is. Most commonally appears as in the phrase splanchnic nerve, meaning nerve going into the abdominal cavity And yes, that really is an -nchn- in there, a combination that all but guaranties that this has a Greek root: splanchnikós, from splánchna, viscera (in a plural form), akin to splēn, spleen. Borrowed around 1680 -- a prime era for medical borrowings.
