rutilant (ROOT-l-uhnt) - adj., having a reddish glow or color.

Where "reddish" can also encompass what we'd now call golden. Not exactly common these days, alas, for all that there are literary faces and cheeks that could use the term. Borrowed in the 1490s (or at any rate the late 15th century) from Latin rutilāns, present participle of rutilāre, from rutilus, reddish.
