porcupet or porcupette (por-kyuu-PET) - n., a baby porcupine.


Also more commonly called a pup -- in fact, I cannot find a dictionary with the word, which instead nshows up primarily in word lists for baby animals and blogposts by zoos showing off their latest porcupet. It's the latter that pushes me over the edge into posting this as legit: if the group whose jargon it is use it, it's real jargon. Besides, porcupets are way cute -- search YouTube. Go on. It'll brighten your day.

I'm afraid that this is a word like "puffling," a cutesy word thought up by people who thought the animal needed marketing assistance.
