doryphory - n., (astrol.) a planet rising shortly before the Sun or after the Moon.

Where "shortly" apparently means within the same house, though there seems to be much confusion over the matter. For that matter, it's not exactly a common term in astrology. Having a doryphory in your chart is considered good fortune in some way, but for exactly how, you'll have to ask an astrologer. The name comes from Ptolemaic astronomy, where its significance is even more obscure to me, from Greek meaning "spear carrier" -- the image is that the planet is being a sort of honor guard to the Luminaries (that is, the two brightest astrological objects, the Sun and Moon).
