And not, as I all too often think, a kind of grain. Sometimes used of just the temple or just the mound. Especially associated with the Aztecs but built by other cultures of the area. Borrowed in 1613 from Nahuatl (apparently directly and not through Spanish?), from teōtl, god + calli, house.
