delitescent (del-i-TES-uhnt) - adj., hidden, concealed, latent.


In medicine, delitescence is the sudden disappearance of the signs and symptoms of a disease, going latent but not being cured. In use since c.1680, adopted from Latin dēlitēscēns, present participle of dēlitēscere, to hide away. Now rather rare.
