scototaxis (skoh-toh-TAK-sis) - n., movement of an organism in response to darkness.
Positive scototaxis ("shadow + arrangement") is not the same as negative phototaxis ("light + arrangement"), though it can be hard distinguish between them. One way to think of it as whether it's light is painful or darkness is pleasurable.
