prettygoodwordTheme week: I happened to have up a series of words beginning with C -- and not just cookie (which would have been good enough for me).
chiliad (KIL-ee-ad) - n., a group of 1000 items; esp., 1000 years.
A millennium, for that second sense. The difference being that a millennium is from Latin (thousand + year) and this is from Greek (thousand), as you might have guessed from that hard chi at the start.
