prettygoodwordexungulate (eks-UN-gyoo-lait) - adj., to pare off nails, hoofs, or the like.
Pretty rare (much like me lately) and only appears in older unabridged dictionaries (unlike me). From Latin, from exungulare, to lose a hoof (yes, horses can do that -- and no it's not good), from ex- + ungula/unguis, nail/claw/hoof.
