mouffle (MOO-fuhl) - n., (Can.) the large, prehensile upper lip of the moose (and sometimes elk), regarded, especially formerly, as a delicacy.


Very Canadian English, this one. Attested from the late 18th century, adopted (unsurprisingly) from French, in this case mufle, a muffle. Which it does kinda look like.
