lotic (LOH-tik) - adj., of, relating to, or living in moving water.

Riverine, for example, though a flowing spring also is lotic. Contrast with lentic, of or living in still water such as lakes and wetlands or even puddles. Coined in 1919 from Latin lōtus, washed, past participle of lavere, to wash.

Regular posting should resume soon, as I settle into my new job.
