Or, related to, or characterized by having a plethora of something. Also, in obsolete medical terminology, having an overabundance of red blood (and so, also, having a ruddy complexion). Coined either in English or in Late Latin around 1610 from plethora, from Greek plēthṓra, from plēthein, to be full.
