luteous (LOO-tee-uhs) - adj., a light to medium greenish yellow.

Always useful to be able to name that shade. Adopted in the 1650s from Latin lūteus which was originally a golden-yellow, from lūtum, a plant (Reseda luteola) used to dye cloth yellow, called in English dyer's rocket, dyer's weed, and yellowweed.

And that wraps up a week where each word is one letter longer than the previous. Back next week with the regular unsorted assortment.
