halieutics - n., the art or practice of fishing, or possibly, a treatise on the same.


Dictionaries disagree on the point. The only etymology I can find is from Latin halieuticus, pertaining to fishing, itself possibly from Greek. The only uses I can find are in lists of obscure words and resource-management papers.
