quoll (KWOL) - n., any of six cat-sized carnivorous marsupials (genus Dasyurus) of Australia and New Guinea.


More commonly known as native cats or tiger cats, but this name derived from Guugu Yimidhirr dhigul has been gaining popularity. Possibly because of its Scrabble possibilities. This one is a tiger quoll aka spotted quoll aka spotted-tail quoll (Dasyurus maculatus):
