prettygoodwordrosemaling (ROH-zuh-mah-ling) - n., a Scandinavian style of stylized floral decoration with scrollwork and geometric elements.
Typically painted, sometimes carved. Associated especially with 19th century Norway, but also Sweden and also later. A chest with rosemaling:
