cucullate (KYOO-kuh-layt, kyoo-KUHL-ayt) - adj., having the shape of a hood or cowl.
Sometimes, specifically, with the top and side edges rolled inward. Almost only used in a botany, which means I assume very few of us here have cause to use this and I'm only running it under the Department of Yes We Have A Word For That. Coined in the late 18th century from Medieval Latin cucullātus, from Latin cucullus, hood.
(Okay, yes, "Department of" is more than a old-fashioned, thanks to too much exposure to The New Yorker while growing up -- and switching to calling it a hashtag would sound more up-to-date. Eh, whatevs.)
