trice - n., a very short time.

Usually used in the adverbial phrase in a trice. From the original meaning, as a verb, to hoist and secure on a rope (to trice a sail), via the Middle English phrase at a trice meaning "in one pull." In turn from Middle Dutch trisen, to hoist, from trise, a windlass, a pulley.

A poll that will take you just a trice to answer: I've got a collection of botanical terms that are more obscure than my usual assortment. Should I use them for a theme week or no?
