Which begs the question, what's a proportionate fear of chocolate? A worry that your dog will get it? Coined a little before 2010 from Nahuatl chocolātl a drink made from ground, roasted cocoa beans (misspelled xocolātl in a mistaken belief that the Nahuatl word is from xococ, bitter + ātl, water) + -phobia, fear of.

One of my friends has a son who melted down to the point of a massive sobbing meltdown onstage when he won a school prize that was a giant basket of chocolate, because he hates and fears chocolate that much. (He has autism, and he has a strong sensory aversion to the flavour/taste/texture of chocolate in any form.)

My friend had to quickly run onstage and negotiate whether he could have the second prize (nonfood) instead of the first prize that he had won.
