eruct (ih-RUHKT) - v., to belch.

As in to burp gases from the stomach, but also used of volcanoes that suddenly spew forth matter, especially gaseous. Dates to the 1590s, from Latin ērūctāre to vomit/discharge violently, frequentative of ērūgere, to belch/disgorge.
