cakeage (KAY-kij) - n., a fee charged by a restaurant for serving a cake brought in from outside.

Rather than buying of the establishment's cakes. Think birthday cakes. Coined in the 1980s (though uncommon before the 2000s) on the model of corkage, a fee charged when patrons bring their own wine or liquor to a restaurant, which dates to the 1830s.
