lilapsophobia (li-lap-suh-FOH-bee-uh) - n., an abnormal fear of hurricanes and tornados.

Including fears that a less severe storm will develop into such catastrophic weather. This is, in treatment terms, generally considered another (severe) form of astraphobia, a fear of thunder and lightning. Coined in the late 1970s from Ancient Greek laîlaps, violent storm (sometimes erroneously translated as hurricane, but the Mediterranean Sea does not get hurricanes) + phóbos, panic/fear.

Always a thrill and a chill to see a tornado on my timeline! Glad to know there's a word for this. I've been fascinated and horrified by them since my first tornado drill as a kindergartener. Probably not a phobia, though. More like healthy respect!
