vestibular (ve-STIB-yuh-ler) - adj., of, relating to, or resembling a vestibule; of, relating to, or affecting the perception of body position and movement.

(Odd syllabification there: I more naturally say /ves-TIB-yuh-ler/, but all dictionaries consulted have /ve-STIB/.) That second sense is what I was going for, but its relationship with an antechamber or entrance hall is not obvious -- it comes from the vestibular system (so called because it's at the entrance to the inner ear) that senses movement and orientation. (And yes, this should be counted as another sense -- we pos def have more than five.) From vestibule, from French vestibule, entrance court, from Latin vestibulum, forecourt/entrance, from vestiō, to dress/clothe/vest +‎ -bulum, place/location -- place where you put on your cloak.
