So I put a pin in yesterday's word about pillock originally meaning penis, because that's the origin of several vulgar insults -- such as this pair. Both terms are usually used only of men, and both are vaguely physically descriptive. The latter is better documented as far as origin: the literal sense being from the early 1960s, the personal insult form the early 1990s.
