vespertine (VES-per-tin, VES-per-tayn) - adj., of, pertaining to, or occurring in the evening.

Where in botany this can be blooming then, in zoology being active then, in astronomy rising or setting then, and so on. Not to be confused under ANY circumstances with vespine. Borrowed around the end of the 1400s from Latin vespertīnus, from vesper, evening + -tīnus, adjectival suffix.

Both Vespertine and Vespine would make good heroine names. Sisters perhaps, one dreamy and quiet, the other sharp and fierce. You know, in the kind of story that would, uh... have girls with names like Vespertine and Vespine in it.

Wouldn't it be Vespina? Or Vespiné, to indicate it's not a silent final vowel?

I don't see that it has to be--we have the name Justine, for instance, that neither ends -a nor has an accent mark over the final e. But Vespina and Vespiné would make good names too.

But I confess, I hadn't been paying attention to your pronunciation guide and in both cases was mentally pronouncing the words as if they ended as does "machine"
