colubrine (KOL-uh-brain, KOL-uh-brin) - adj., of, pertaining to, or resembling a snake.


Sometimes specifically the subfamily Colubrinae of snakes, which has the garter, whip, and suchlike snakes -- most of the non-venomous ones. But non-technically, snakelike in general. Arrived in the 1520 from Latin colubrīnus, adjectival form of colubra, snake. Sssssss!
